Dark Fantasy AI BL Binge Guide: From 〈Ash and Gold〉 to Beastman Tales
Fantasy is the genre where AI video can let its imagination run freest. Royal palaces and magic, oracles and golden eyes: scenes that are hard to shoot in real life fill the screen. We focus on 〈Ash and Gold〉, which has built a loyal fanbase episode by episode, and introduce two more fantasy works with very different moods.
〈Ash and Gold〉 Episode Guide — MAKEMAKE4
A duke turns his back on the royal family and snatches a crown prince from the flames just as he is about to be burned at the stake. The story begins on a night that is closer to an abduction than a rescue. The appeal of this series is how the balance of power in the relationship shifts a little with each episode, so we recommend watching in order, starting with the trailer.
Trailer
About 25 seconds
Short, but it packs in the heart of the world: the pyre, the flames, and the first meeting between the two leads. A good way to get a feel for the mood before the main episodes.
Episode 2 — Then Follow Me
About 9 minutes
The crown prince, once a sacrifice, slips out of the mansion with a stolen key, and a scroll hidden deep inside the mansion stirs the memory of golden eyes. This is the episode where the one-sided relationship of Episode 1 is overturned for the first time.
Episode 3 — Sword and Breath
About 10 minutes
The duke who once held him captive now fights to send him away. The series' emotional core becomes clear in the scene where the crown prince, finally free to leave on his own, hesitates instead.
Episode 4 — Name and Nightmare
About 10 minutes
The two hide from their pursuers. The duke, who once hesitated when saying the prince's name, does not hesitate this time. Beside a secret that must not be discovered, the line between them slowly crumbles.
Episode 5 — Vow, Secret, and Lips
About 10 minutes
In an abandoned palace that still bears traces of his mother, a choice kept hidden comes to light, and they exchange a vow never to leave. This episode brings you a step closer to the oracle, the central secret of the series.
Episode 6 — Have You Ever Danced With Another Man?
About 10 minutes
At a masked ball, the crown prince, who always walked a step ahead, entrusts his steps to the duke for the first time. Lavish banquet scenes unfold alongside political scheming, making this the best episode for enjoying the visuals.
More Fantasy to Watch
The Hunger of the Species EP.01 — PROFANE FILM
Beastman tale · About 7 minutes
A story about a scent that instinct recognizes before you can hide it, and a hunger that cannot be concealed in the end. An original short film depicting a beastman setting and a precarious relationship, it suits you when you want rawer tension than 〈Ash and Gold〉.
Night at the Eastern Palace EP.02 — Riku’s Library
Palace mystery · About 4 minutes
A crown prince tormented every night by a mysterious illness, a queen who dabbles in a forbidden ritual to save him, and Seorin, who enters as the scapegoat meant to take the prince's affliction upon themselves. A blend of Eastern folklore-style fantasy and mystery.
In fantasy works, the world-building is often carried by the visuals rather than the dialogue. Watch the first time for the characters, and the second time focus on the background props and symbols (golden eyes, keys, scrolls), and you'll spot the hidden foreshadowing.
